Ok… Uh… Change of Plans

November 17th, 2006 by Bob Somers

So I guess Ramzy and I had a little miscommunication, and we didn’t end up recording the podcast yet. However, it’s no big deal because by the time I was able to get in line for the PS3 the measly supply of units within a 30 mile radius was already locked up.

That’s ok though, I’m not heartbroken. In all honesty I wasn’t going to keep it. I was going to resell it on eBay for $5,000,000 or whatever they’re going for now.

However, I have pretty much decided that I’m going to get a Wii. I’ve done a lot of research and there are supposed to be over 600 units available in my hometown on launch day. I do have something going the afternoon before, but I’m hoping that since single stores are getting up to 120 units I’ll be able to score one with little effort.

One more thing, and I know you’re going to hate me for this. :) I’m going out of town this weekend, and since I won’t have access to my desktop PC we won’t be able to record the podcast until early next week. However, I’ll hopefully be able to give you my honest opinion of the Wii after playing it all weekend.

Is that a fair trade? You better think so, because that’s the way it’s going down. :)

Thanks for hanging in there guys.

Come On Over and Wii’ll Play!

I was successful, and I now a Wii set up in my living room. I waited in line at Walmart for 8 hours and was #8 in line. Good thing too, because they expected 60 systems and only 29 showed up.

I also got an extra remote and Excite Truck. I have pics of the unboxing, but honestly I’m not going to give you guys the rundown for a day or two, because I’m having too much fun playing!

Suffice it to say though, that I’m thoroughly convinced that this will definitely revolutionize the way we interact with games.

Little bit of an explanation

November 20th, 2006 by Ramzy

This post is both aimed at Bob and all of our listeners.

I suppose a quick explanation is in order. Honestly and truthfully, the last couple days have been some of the worst and most annoying I’ve ever experienced. For starters, a very good friend of mine was involved in a near fatal car crash. I spent most of the night that we were supposed to record the podcast stuck in a hospital at my friends’ side. Now, Bob told me I was supposed to get on air by about 7PM (Australian time). By the time I saw the time, it was about 7:15. I said my goodbye’s to everyone, rushed home, and jumped onto my computer…Only for my modem to give me the same error every time I would attempt to connect… “The host computer did not respond”. After screwing around with my phone line, modem and computer, I finally decided to give tech support a call.

The guy I called suggested that I try changing some settings and rebooting. I did. My computer refused to turn on. After about 45 minutes of trying to figure out the problem, It [the computer] finally just fixed itself and decided to turn on.

After talking to the guy on the other side for another 30 minutes, we finally came to the conclusion that my line was cut. Long story short, my internet won’t be ready for another week. Which is why I’m at in internet café right now :D .

Well, that’s about it. I know, it probably seems farfetched, and I know this isn’t my personal blog, but I thought I’d explain everything to you guys.

Best Regards,
Ramzy
